Employment scam advisory

Some of the employment scams will attempt to request that you transfer money, in order to accept an employment offer with a very attractive remuneration package. These can be in the form of an official looking email, website popup, SMS message or phone call.

As part of our commitment to protect FPS and our customers, here are some tips to help you spot scam email and protect yourself from a scam attempt.

How to Avoid Employment Scam

Here are some general tips to protect yourself against an employment scam attempt:

  • Beware of email or websites asking you to transfer money in order to accept an employment offer. An employment scam tends to address you by your real name. It tends to also urge you to act quickly or miss the offer.
  • Beware also of pop-ups. Do not click on hyperlinks, download files or open attachments unless you are sure that the source is legitimate.
  • Look out for any security warnings displayed by web browsers and any security software. If there is a security warning, it is best to follow it.

Below is an example of an email purportedly represents FPS Global Logistics, offering individuals an employment package and requesting payment of a registration fee for an interview.

FPS Global Logistics and Famous Holdings did not engage any employment agencies to send out emails such as the above.

What you should do if you receive such a scam email

To safeguard yourself, please be extra careful when you receive an unsolicited email or all other forms of communication asking you to provide personal information or transfer of payment. Under no circumstances should you give personal information including credit card or banking details, or make payment to third parties, unless you have verified the authenticity of such requests.

  • Check the full URL to ensure that the website is legitimate, for example:

  • It should NOT look like these:

  • All official emails from FPS and Famous will typically be sent from addresses ending with "". They will not be sent from personal email accounts such as Hotmail, Gmail, or other unfamiliar email domains.
  • Our email replies are usually signed off with an officer's name, designation and contact information.

How to Report a Scam

If you have received a suspicious email, letter, SMS or phone call purportedly from FPS or Famous, contact us via our website to verify the authenticity of such messages.

Do not respond to them or click on any hyperlink in the email. In the case of suspicious phone calls, you should request for the caller’s full name, telephone number and department and validate this through our web chat.

If you suspect that you have responded to a scam with personal or financial information, you are advised to:

  • Lodge a police report;
  • Change the passwords or PINs on all your online accounts;
  • Contact your banks to stop any transactions.
